Lucas van der Velden is the director of Sonic Acts. He studied at ArtScience Interfaculty (then Image and Sound) at The Royal Conservatoire and the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague where we met. Founded in 1994, Sonic Acts festival established itself as one of the most vital events/productions in the Netherlands in the domain of interactions between art, technology, music and science. Lucas van der Velden is also a co-founder of the Rotterdam art collective Telcosystems and co-founder of Baltan Lab in Eindhoven.

Almost exactly a year ago, during the 2017 edition The Noise of Being I had a pleasure to steal Lucas’s lunch time and get him to talk a bit about the programme, production & visions for future. Annemarie Türk is an independent curator and consultant from Austria. She has worked for KulturKontakt for more than 20 years and during this period she made her name for supporting and promoting numerous young and old independent artists from the Balkans and wider. She continued that practice outside of KulturKontakt organization and Femkanje had a pleasure to talk with her about these projects over the years during a sit-in interview in Vienna.

We were excited and happy for the opportunity to welcome this amazing woman into our 87th show of Femkanje. The shot is made in a busy cafe and even though we are in the middle of the crowd that should not stop you from focusing on the great story she had to tell.

This July Bojana visited Escape community at the Hvar island in Croatia, where she met the founders of DOMA Art Foundation, Martina Stefanova and Doychin Kotlarov.

Bojana spent three months in Vienna at the Kulturkontakt artist residency, where she met and interviewed several very interesting authors, coming from different art fields and countries. Femkanje from Vienna is realized in serbian and english, and published in three parts: Bečko Femkanje, Viennese Femkanje and Wiener Femkanje.

Nakon tromesečnog boravka na KulturKontakt umetničkoj rezidenciji u Beču, Bojana donosi priče sa zanimljivim autorkama i autorima koje je tamo sretala. Femkanje iz Beča, koje je realizovano na srpskom i engleskom jeziku, biće objavljeno u tri dela: Bečko Femkanje, Viennese Femkanje i Wiener Femkanje.

U prvom delu gostuje mlada rediteljka Nika Šaravanja, čiji će prvi dugometražni dokumentarni film Dusk Chorus premijerno biti prikazan sutra, na festivalu Visions du Réel u Nionu (Švajcarska). Poslušajte detaljnije o procesu rada na ovom uzbudljivom i ambicioznom dokumentarcu čiji je protagonista David Monacchi, eko-akustični kompozitor, koji u okviru dugoročnog projekta Fragments of Extinction snima zvukove ekosistema pred izumiranjem.
